Life in the Upper Peninsula is hard.  The winters are long.  Opportunities for good paying jobs are few.  The people who live here work hard.  They ask for little and they get little. 

The new Community Building will be an important community asset.  It will continue to serve as war memorial, but it will also house City operations and act as a gathering place for the people of Wakefield.  It will serve as the soul of Wakefield and will attract visitors from near and far. 

We look to you to share our dream.
